What is grid paper?
Grid paper is a sheet of evenly spaced lines or dots that helps you align handwriting, plot points and draw with a consistent scale. It is also called graph paper or squared paper.

Is this grid paper printable for free?+
Yes. Download the ready-made PDFs or create your own paper without an account or a watermark. There are no paid settings in this generator.
How do I keep the squares the right size?+
Download the PDF and choose Actual size or 100% in your print dialog. Match the paper size and turn off Fit to page. Measure a printed square with a ruler before using the sheet for scale work.
Is 5 mm the same as a quarter inch?+
No. A quarter inch is exactly 6.35 mm. A 5 mm grid has two squares per centimeter; a quarter-inch grid has four squares per inch. Choose the spacing that matches your assignment or project.
Can I use A4 and US Letter paper?+
Yes. A4 is 210 × 297 mm; US Letter is 215.9 × 279.4 mm (8.5 × 11 inches). The generator also supports A3, A5, Legal, Tabloid and an exact 8 × 11-inch custom size.
What does an 8×8 grid mean?+
Our 8×8 template has exactly eight rows and eight columns, making 64 cells. It describes the cell count, rather than page dimensions or squares per inch.
Are my notes or settings uploaded?+
The custom grid is generated in your browser. The heading you enter stays in your browser unless you copy and share a settings link, which includes the heading in its URL. Downloaded files contain the heading you chose.
