STEP BY STEP

How to make it.

  1. Print and cut

Print all three pages at 100%. Cut the outer track and support outlines. Leave the center of each track floor uncut.

  2. Fold the troughs

Fold the two long dashed lines on each track section upward. For the bendable pieces, also cut the short slits in the side walls so the floor can bend gently up or down.

  3. Join the track

Overlap the shaded JOIN floor area by 10 mm and tape it flat to the next section. Join wall tabs where practical; keep tape ridges out of the rolling path.

  4. Build the supports

Fold each support into a square tube and glue its narrow side tab inside. Cut between the four feet, fold the feet outward, and tape them to a base plate and a rigid board.

  5. Set a gentle slope

Tape a track floor across the top of the 90 mm column, pass it over the 60 mm column and end on the base board. Add braces and extra tape where the track flexes.

  6. Test and adjust

Release one marble from rest. Smooth raised joins, reduce steep drops and add support where needed. Print extra track and columns if you want to extend the run.

GOOD QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions.

Quick answers before you print.

What is in the free roller coaster kit?+

The three A4 pages contain two straight troughs, two slitted ramp pieces, a 90 mm support, a 60 mm support and two base plates.

Does the printable include a loop or sideways curve?+

No. The starter kit is for a simple descending marble run. Slitted side walls allow gentle vertical bends rather than sideways turns.

What size marble should I try?+

The 25 mm floor is intended as a starting point for a 12-16 mm marble. Test the joins and adjust the supports before extending the run.
